making a book
This fast moving, interactive workshop encourages the pupils to dig into their imagination and quickly create a book based on a random selection of words and images from magazines. To get the ball rolling I take the whole class through a process by which they will find a topic or theme for their publication and then working either as individuals or small groups, they begin to write creatively and illustrate their words with found imagery. The workshop, aimed at year 7 and above, runs for a minimum of 90 minutes but has better outcomes if spread across a whole day.
